Sometimes, it’s the small things that really get people talking. Let’s say you’ve got a lot of dog walkers in the area. Instead of just putting out a bowl of water, what if you offered dog treats or even set up a little puppy playground?
You could take it a step further. Put signs along popular dog-walking routes saying, “25% off when you bring your pup!”Add a picture of the free treat waiting at the counter. Now, every time someone plans a walk, they’ll think, “Would my dog enjoy a treat too?” And chances are, they’ll grab a coffee while they’re at it.
Maybe you’re targeting parents with toddlers. Adding something fun for the kids to do while the adults relax can go a long way. In truth, I’ve seen small, thoughtful touches like these inspire more loyalty than any “buy ten, get one free” card ever could.
The real magic is finding something unexpected that delights a specific group of your customers in a way that gets them talking and recommending you to their friends.
